A Midsummer Night's Dream

On 16th December we visited the English theatre performance - A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. It's his famous comedy about love, magic and human characteristics. I have never seen this play in a theatre before, so I was curious, how students from "Gymnázium O. Havlové" would play it. I must say, that they coped with it excellently. Their English was clear and I didn’t have any problem to understand. It was very exciting and funny for me. I was laughing a lot. Although it wasn't played by actors, only by students, I had a feeling that I am in a real theatre, because they were really good. I hope that we will have a similar possibility to improve our English again.

On Thursday, 16thDecember, a group of our students attended the performance of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in order to improve their English.

We agreed to meet at 7.45 near the Harmony hotel and suffered from seemingly unending waiting in front of it in temperatures way below freezing. Then we headed towards the cultural centre and after a while we sat chairs that were prepared near the stage.

Initiative young actors adjusted words of the play so that everyone in the audience could understand it. It was funny and as good as it could be, regarding to limited resources.

This chance of practising our English outside the classroom was of course warmly welcomed and most students will be willing to visit more cultural trips within our city.
